What has got a multi-billion dollar software giant to do with Polio?

Today, polio afflicts probably 1 percent of the world population...thanks to the concerted efforts of Rotary which has taken up this mission to eradicate polio from the world that afflicted the 129 countries of the world then.

Today its traces remain only in four countries, Afghanistan, India, Nigeria and Pakistan.

And in this fight to banish polio, we have one more partner, the multi-billionaire Bill Gates, who has shown to the world corporate philanthropy is and what it can do to impact the lives of the people, who suffer from preventable diseases.

Rotary International President Ray Klinginsmith speakes about Rotary's Polio efforts and how Bill & Milinda Foundation are helping in achieving this mission of polio eradication. We're indeed 'This Close'!
